TVS Motor Company today introduced a new dual-disc version of its Raider 125 commuter bike in India, bringing a handful of firsts to the 125cc segment.
The two new variants — SXC DD and TFT DD — are priced at ₹93,800 and ₹95,600 respectively (ex-showroom).
What’s New: Segment-First Features
- Dual Disc Brakes + Single-Channel ABS: The Raider now gets disc brakes both front and rear, backed by ABS — a first in this category — enhancing braking precision.
- Boost Mode with iGO Assist: This tech provides an additional 0.55 Nm torque bump when needed, aiding quick overtakes. The system also incorporates auto start/stop.
- Glide Through Technology (GTT): In heavy traffic, GTT enables the bike to crawl without throttle input by automatically adjusting the engine revs — reducing rider effort at low speeds.
- Follow-Me Headlamp: Even after turning off the engine, the headlights stay on briefly, offering better visibility in dark conditions.
Beyond these, the Raider’s cosmetics see a refresh: a metallic silver body finish, a split seat layout, and sporty red alloy wheels. The tyres are wider now — 90/90-17 front and 110/80-17 rear — for improved grip and cornering.
Performance & Connectivity
Mechanically, the Raider retains its 125cc, 3-valve engine, now tuned to deliver 11.75 Nm@6,000 rpm in Boost Mode (base torque is lower). The transmission remains a 5-speed unit.
For digital features, the new variants support TVS’s SmartXonnect platform. Riders can choose between:
- TFT Screen: Over 99 connected features
- Reverse LCD Cluster: Around 85 features
Both setups offer Bluetooth, voice assist, turn-by-turn navigation, call handling, and notifications.
