Hyundai’s popular mid-size sedan, the Verna, is set to receive a facelift, and the updated model has now been spotted testing on Indian roads. The Verna has been one of the strongest contenders in the segment, competing with rivals like the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus. With this facelift, Hyundai aims to keep the sedan fresh and appealing in a market increasingly leaning toward SUVs.
The test mule spotted on Indian roads was heavily camouflaged, but certain design details were visible. The facelifted Verna is expected to feature a revised front fascia with a sharper grille design, updated LED headlamps, and a sportier bumper. At the rear, redesigned LED tail-lamps with a connected light bar and refreshed bumper styling are likely to give the car a more premium appearance. Alloy wheel design updates are also expected to be part of the package.
Inside, the 2025 Hyundai Verna facelift could see subtle changes, including new upholstery, an updated infotainment system with advanced connected car features, and improved materials for a more upmarket cabin experience. Hyundai may also introduce additional convenience and safety technologies to strengthen the Verna’s position in the competitive sedan segment.
Mechanically, the Verna facelift is likely to continue with the same engine lineup, which currently includes a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel (depending on market strategy). Transmission options will include both manual and automatic gearboxes. However, Hyundai may tweak the engines for better fuel efficiency and performance in line with the latest emission norms.
Safety is expected to remain a highlight, with features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) being offered in higher variants.
The Hyundai Verna facelift is expected to launch in India in early 2025, with prices seeing a slight increase over the current model. Given the strong brand recall of the Verna, the facelift is likely to attract both existing Hyundai loyalists and new buyers seeking a premium sedan alternative to SUVs.
With this update, Hyundai looks to further cement the Verna’s reputation as a stylish, feature-rich, and performance-oriented sedan in the Indian market.
