Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition in India, adding fresh design tweaks and premium features to enhance the appeal of its popular SUV. Although the mechanical specs remain unchanged, the visual and feature upgrades are focused on giving the vehicle a sportier and more refined presence.
On the exterior, the Leader Edition features a new grille with chrome garnish, revised front and rear bumpers, dual-tone roof, and a distinctive bonnet emblem. Glossy black alloy wheels further accentuate its aggressive stance. The SUV is offered in four colors: Attitude Black, Super White, Pearl White, and Silver, each paired with the black roof to emphasize its premium character.
Inside the cabin, Toyota introduces a black and maroon dual-tone upholstery scheme for seats and door trims. Added creature comforts include auto-folding outside mirrors, illuminated scuff plates, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). While these features weren’t standard across all base Fortuner models, they lend extra value to this edition.
Under the hood, the Leader Edition retains the familiar 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel engine, delivering 201 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Notably, the Leader Edition is available only in a rear-wheel drive (4×2) layout — the 4×4 option is not offered for this variant.
Bookings for the new edition will open in the second week of October 2025 through Toyota’s official website and authorized dealerships. Pricing has not yet been disclosed, but industry insiders expect it to carry a modest premium over the standard Fortuner 4×2 models.
With these updates, Toyota aims to keep the Fortuner fresh and competitive for the festive season, catering to buyers seeking extra style and features without altering drivetrain performance. The move again reinforces Fortuner’s stronghold in India’s premium SUV space.
