Priya Sachdev Includes Children of Karisma Kapoor in Tribute to Sunjay Kapur Amid Inheritance Dispute

On October 15, widow Priya Sachdev paid tribute to her late husband Sunjay Kapur on what would have been his 54th birthday, posting a heartfelt montage on social media. The video tribute poignantly reflected on his legacy, and notably featured images of his children from his earlier marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor—daughter Samaira Kapoor and son Kiaan Kapoor—despite an ongoing legal battle over his will.

In her post, Priya included verses from the Bhagavad Gītā alongside a deeply personal note, writing: “They say a great man’s actions guide the world, but for me, your greatest act was how you loved, selflessly and completely. Some souls don’t depart; they expand. You are everywhere, yet still right here. My Sunjay, I know you are watching over me. Happy Birthday, J.” The montage also included a voice-over by Sunjay, stating: “I’m here to protect my family… to pass on the right values to my children.”

While the tribute struck an emotional chord, its timing and content have attracted attention because Samaira and Kiaan are parties to a high-profile dispute over their father’s estate, estimated at over ₹30,000 crore. They claim the will presented by Priya is forged, alleging they were effectively excluded. The inclusion of their images in the tribute is being interpreted by some as a gesture of reconciliation or message of unity amid the legal strife.

Sunjay Kapur, former husband of Karisma Kapoor (2003–2016) and husband of Priya since 2017, died in June 2025. His children with Karisma are now contesting the will in court, while Priya maintains the document is valid.

By featuring Samaira and Kiaan in the post, Priya may be signalling her stance toward the family-dynamics and the ongoing court proceedings. As the legal battle continues, this birthday tribute adds a new emotional layer to a story already under intense public scrutiny.
